Abstract
The determination of the photopeak efficiency of some reference materials calibrated by IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) including the kinds of soil (IAEA-375), grass (IAEA-373), and milk powder (IAEA-152) has been done. It has been conducted by counting these materials with a y-spectrometer in the thickness variations of 4,5 cm and 1,0 cm. The value of the photopeak efficiency can be calculated and analyzed from its dimension and kind point of view. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the difference of the kind and dimension of the material counted take effect significantly to the photopeak efficiency. The result provided that the difference of kind and dimension of the material counted with the 7-spectrometer take effect to the photopeak efficiency significantly.
