Abstract
Sifat atenuasi adalah kemampuan suatu materi menyerap atau mengurangi intensitas radiasi yang mengenai permukaannya. Hilangnya energi radiasi karena berinteraksi denganmateri disebabkan tiga proses utama, yaitu : efek fotolistrik, hamburan Compton Clan 'produksi. pasangan. Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai sifat atenuasi beton dengan serbuk logam sebagai agregat pengganti pasir terhadap radiasi gamma yang melewatinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa materi dengan bahan susun yang meniiliki rapat massy tinggi sangat 0000k digunakan sebagai penyerap radiasi. Beton dengan serbuk besi lebih baik daya serapnya terhadap radiasi gamma daripada menggunakan serbuk kuningan atau pasir. Attenuation is a material ability to absorp or subtract intensity of radiation which hit the material surface. The loosing radiation energy which interact with material is caused by three essential processes, i.e. photoelectrik effect, Compton scattering and pair production. The research about concrete attenuation with metal filing as a sand substitute agregate with respect to gamma radiation which pass on it is done. Research result represents that material with high density component is very suitable to use as radiation absorption. Concrete-with iron filing agregate is better on absorption with respect to gamma radiation than brass filing or sand.
