Abstract
This thesis deals with the conflict of the main character named Erica Bain, particularly about her internal and external conflict as described in Roderick Taylor dan Bruce A. Taylor’s movie script “The Brave One”. The aims of this thesis are to explain the causal factor of conflict experienced by the main character, Erica Bain and to analyze the internal and external conflicts of Erica Bain in the movie script “The Brave One” written by Roderick Taylor dan Bruce A. Taylor. In writing this thesis, the writer used two methods: exponential and psychological methods. Exponential approach was applied to analyze the character, setting, theme and conflict. Meanwhile, the psychological approach especially Florence Littauer’s theory of plus personality was used to analyze the personality of Erica Bain. The result of this thesis shows that Erica is a strong woman because she is able to face her real life and against her sadness when the conflicts falls on her. In the movie script “The Brave One”, Erica experiences two conflicts; those are internal and external conflict. The effect of the two conflicts has caused Erica to be a new person. Therefore, revenge is a way used by Erica to survive from the hardship that fall on her.
