Abstract
Competency test of Objective Structure Clinical Sessessment (OSCA) is a method for evaluating knowledge skill, attitude, and behavior of health workers. Based on data recapitulation of Provincial Health Worker Committee of Central Java until June 2006, from 469 midwives who had educational background of DIII midwifery, 53 persons (11,3%) had ever followed the test. Aim of this research was to analyze the factors of knowledge, attitude, and motivation that influenced midwives interest to follow competency test of OSCA in Semarang City. Type of this research was observational using cross sectional approach. Sample was carried out Simple Random Sampling method with inclusion criteria as follows : midwives worked in Semarang City, provided midwifery care services, never followed competency test of OSCA, and had minimal educational background of DIII Midwifery. Result of this research shows that percentage of the respondents who have low interest to follow the test (59,3%) is bigger than percentage of the respondents who have high interest to follow the test (40,7 %). The factors that have significant relationship with midwivesâ interest to follow the test are knowledge (r = 0.297 and p = 0.001), attitude (r = 0.273 and p = 0.001), and motivation (r = 0.202 and p = 0.019). Knowledge and attitude factor influence midwives interest to follow the test together. Variable of knowledge has b value = 0.240; t value = 2.836; and p value = 0.005 (< 0.05) and variable of attitude has b value = 0.207; t value = 2.441; and p value = 0.016 (< 0.05). It means that both of variables have a positive influence towards midwives interest to follow the competency test of OSCA. Sumber Utama : www.mikm.undip.ac.id
