Abstract

Research was conducted with a background lack of attention to the education of children with autism. Education is the most important provision for a child, not the exception for children with autism. Education throught which cildren will have an impact on the development of the child’s ability to communicate, interact and socialize. When the first autistic child was educated, the child will be at levels kindergarten. Learning objectives at this level is to shape children’s behaviour for more targeted. Teacher have an important role in teaching children with autism during the learning process takes place. The purpose of the research is to understand the communication behavior of teacher in teaching autistic children at kindergarten level. So will get understanding of the constraints faced by teachers and how learning strategy that teacher do. This research use the Coordinated Management of Meaning theory in which described how to understand the meaning of messages and the impact of relationship in the communication process. This research is based on the paradigm of interpretive and phenomenological approach. The subject of this research are two teachers and the object in this research are Dimas and Michael as hyperactive autistic children. The results of this research indicated that in teaching and learning process there are several constraints that come from the children with autism and other students disorder who are in a class. Disorder that autism children have lead the learning process becomes less effective. Learning strategy that teachers do is to teach autistic children how to socialize and adapt, how to contol emotions, and concerning the different attitude of each child. Key words : communication, autism and education.
