Abstract

At one particular pipe flown by fluid hence at the pipe there will be instability,one of them is static instability. Static instability after table hence pipe will experience divergence like buckling. Speed of fluid flow where pipe experiences divergence called as with fluid critical velocity. Flexible pipe critical velocity analysis as result of fluid flow need to be done to delimitate operation effectivity of the pipe. Research to looking for the fluid critical velocity is done by using pipe with simple supported flown by fluid with speed various from 0 m/s up to 1000 m/s. At this research flexible pipe structures modeled and analyzed with finite element method based on at Euler Bernoulli Beam Theory. Result from modeling with finite element method with program matlab is validation with result from analytical. Result from this research gotten that for fixedfixed supported has highest critical velocity value compared to other supported 6,282 while pinnedpinned supported has lowest critical velocity value compared to other supported 3,14. Then after knowing the fluid critical velocity, hence the fluid critical velocity can be improved by adding supported or spiral spring at the midpoint. The result is for fixedfixed supported increasing to become 8,947 and pinnedpinned supported becomes 3,176. Key word : Fleksible pipe, static, divergence.
