Penafsiran Khalayak Terhadap Poligami Dalam Sinetron Religi

Abstract

Every month of Ramadan, television station broadcast religious soap opera. Religious soap opera is a soap opera that nuance Islam in it. Religious soap opera that broadcasted in Ramadan. 2010 contained with polygamy. One of the religious soap opera is Ketika Cinta Bertasbih. The delineation of polygamy in Ketika Cinta Bertasbih can make a social construction about polygamy in public. This research have a purpose to know how is public interpretation about polygamy in religious soap opera. This research used qualitative approach with methods analysis reception. This approach focuses on media text and reading that public do. Text viewed as polysemy message that have many possibilities and public viewed as a producer of meaning. Researcher used indepth interview to gather data from public. Public interpret the text agree with their socio-cultural factor and also influence by their individual experience. Public that watched did three reading position, that is dominant-hegemonic, negotiated reading, and oppositional reading. The result of this research point out that public interpretation of polygamy did not change after watched Ketika Cinta Bertasbih. There is a powerful factor that can influence public interpretation more than religion, that is sex, education and cultural background. Keyword : Analysis Reception; Polygamy; Religious Soap Opera
