Daily care profession railways in Indonesia is still done manually. This final report will present the design and manufacture of inspection robot prototype railroads. Monitoring of a railway line using a robot-based camera. DC motor controlling is done through visual studio software on the computer and to drive the robot via the internet is required software team viewer. The sensor optocoupler works as a reader turns the DC motor. Readings are transmitted via RS232 serial communication to the microcontroller which will determine the working motor driver so that the robot can be driven. Images received from the webcam is processed through a laptop using software visual studio and received by the webcam images are sent using an Internet connection to a computer server. In this monitoring system consists of the Client and Server. The software will be used consist of: Software Visual Studio 2008, C # Programming Language, Software Team viewer, Software Code Vision AVR V2.03.9 Evaluation, Software Autocad 2006. Hardware that will be used consisting of: a DC motor driver module, DC motor, microcontroller AT8535, optocoupler sensor, potensio meter, serial RS232,netbook. Testing have been conducted in several aspects including the testing movement forward, backward, automatic with maximum speed. The dimensions of this robot is the length of 247cm, width of 78cm, 23cm tall weighing 15 kg. The test show that the robot has been designed to have good performance.
