Abstract

Perkembangan industri tenun di Desa Wanarejan Utara Kecamatan Taman Kabupaten Pemalang semakin meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Industri-industri tersebut membuang limbah ke lingkungan tanpa melalui proses pengolahan terlebih dahulu sehingga menimbulkan kekhawatiran akan adanya pencemaran bagi lingkungan sekitarnya. Pemeriksaan awal menunjukkan bahwa kadar BOD limbah tenun telah melampaui baku mutu yang ditetapkan dalam Keputusan Gubernur Kepala Daerah Tingkat I Jawa Tengah Nomor:660.1/02/1997. Baku mutu kadar BOD untuk limbah tekstil adalah 85 mg/l. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar BOD limbah cair industri tenun sebelum dan sesudah pengolahan dengan RBCs. Ini adalah penelitian quasi experiment dengan rancangan control group pretest postest-design. Kadar BOD limbah tenun sebelum diolah rata-rata adalah sebesar 381,93 mg/l. Setelah diolah dengan RBCs rata-rata kadar BODnya adalah sebesar 221,02 mg/l, dengan efektifitas pengolahan sebesar 43%. Limbah tenun yang digunakan sebagai kontrol memiliki kadar BOD influen rata-rata sebesar 411,96 mg/l, efluen rata-rata sebesar 337,35 mg/l dan efektifitas sebesar 18%. Hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah dengan pvalue 0,0001 ada perbedaan kadar BOD limbah tenun sebelum dan sesudah pengolahan dengan RBCs, dengan efektifitas sebesar 25%. Melalui beberapa usaha penyempurnaan diharapkan alat ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk mencegah terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan akibat limbah tenun. The purpose of this research is to know the differences of weaving industrial BOD level before and after treatment by RBCs. It is a quasi experiment with control group pre-test - post-test design. The mean of pre-treated weaving waste BOD level is 381,93 mg/l. After being treated by RBCs, the mean of BOD level is 221,02 mg/l, with about 43% treatment effectivity. Weaving waste used as a control has mean influent BOD level 411,96 mg/l, mean effluent 337,35 mg/l, and 18% of effectivity. The output of this research is that with p value 0,0001 there is a difference of BOD before and after treatment using RBCs with 25% effectivity. Through some finishing exertion in the future hopefully this equipment can be used as an alternative in avoiding environment pollution caused by weaving waste.
