Abstract

The therapeutic communication’s research between the nurse with the child's patient and parents were formed the background by the experience of one of the parents where when his child will be treated to stay experienced the trauma to the nurse because of the shortage of the nurse's capacity in communicating therapeutically with the child's patient and parents. Moreover many cases where the nurse will only communicate with the patient and parents of the patient when wanting to carry out the medical action then. The formulation of the problem of this research was the researcher want to understood and explained how the technique and the therapeutic communication method that the nurse did with the child's patient and parents. This research used the framework of thinking where the nurse's method of carrying out therapeutic communication to the child's patient must pay attention to the tone of the voice, eyes contact, the distance of the interaction (the position of the body), shifted the activity of the patient, angry and the touch. Whereas for the technique personally one of them the person's third and technical technique playing. This research used the qualitative approach with the case study method, and the type of the research that was used was descriptive. The type of the case in this research was instrumental case. Technically this collection of the research data used the interview, observation, and the study of the book. The subject of this research was the nurse and the child's patient who were treated to stay in Kid’s Space of RSUD Ungaran at the same time parents of the patient. In this research the analysis of the data that was used was the pattern macthing but also was carried out by the technique coding. Results of this research that the technique that was applied by the nurse Melati RSUD Ungaran Space only the playing technique, because of the playing technique was effective enough to be able to make the child's patient feel comfortable, so as the foundling's patient forgot the feeling of being sick that was felt. For the therapeutic communication method that the nurse did could be was said in accordance with the available theory, where the nurse paid attention to the distance of the interaction (the position of the body) when facing the child's patient, and the nurse often carried out the transfer of the activity of the child's patient when wanting to carry out the medical action. The method and the therapeutic communication technique that the nurse did well really will have a positive impact for the child's patient. All the techniques and the therapeutic communication method that the nurse did can not be implemented well without the existence of help from parents of the patient. The role of parents of the patient was really needed by the nurse in carrying out the technique and the therapeutic communication method to the child's patient. With the existence of help from parents of the patient, in a manner indirectly could help the nurse to achieve the aim of the therapeutic communication personally that is heading recovery to the child's patient. Parents of the patient were the closest person and the person who most understood the child's patient, in this way information that the nurse got through parents of the patient could help to achieve recovery of the child's patient.
