Abstract

Health services at a hospital are oriented to focus on nursing process in which it is a mind frame of nurse in implementing the nursing care standard. Good work performance of nurse can improve quality of health services. Aim of this research was to analyze the factors that influence nurse’s work performance in implementing the nursing care standard at Inpatient Unit of Class C Public Hospital in Sorong District. This was observational research using cross sectional approach. Interview was performed to collect data towards 110 respondents using questionnaires and brainstorming. Data were analyzed using methods of univariate, bivariate, and multivariate. Result of this research shows that most of the respondents correctly answer the knowledge questions (60%) and are categorized in medium knowledge (38.2%). Most of the respondents disagree with the attitude statements and they are categorized in low attitudes (35.5%). Most of the respondents agree with the motivation statements and they are categorized in medium motivation (75.5%). Most of the respondents disagree with the supervision questions and they are categorized in medium supervision (49.1%). Most of the respondents disagree with the work performance questions and they are categorized in good work performance (51.8%). Based on bivariate analysis, variables that have significant relationship with the nurse’s work performance are knowledge (p=0.001), attitude (p=0.009), motivation (p=0.014), supervision (p=0.002), and leadership (p=0.027). Result of multivariate analysis shows that variable of knowledge (for category of low, p=0.003, and medium knowledge, p=0.022) and motivation (for category of low motivation, p=0.0001) influence the nurse’s work performance.
