Abstract

Diarrohea and skin diseases belong to waterborne disease that can be prevented through the Water Supply and Sanitation program. Diarrohoea and skin diseases and had been increasing for five years (1996-2000) in Kendal. Water Supply and Healthy Environment Program ( PAB and PLP Program ) have been conducted, starting from Inpres Samojaga, PAB-BL Program and Establishment Program on Basic Fasility of Rural Settlement (P3DPP). The fresh water coverage reached 73,1 % in 2000 and the family lavatory reached 31,4 %. Based on last research, it was concluded that the water supply and sanitation can give significant to the community if the sanitaion and fresh water coverage reach at least 80 %. The research is aimed to know the effectivity of P3DPP and PLP program ini improving the community health condition especially Diarrohoea and Skin diseases. The research was at P3DPP location (PAB and PLP program) in 2000 (9 villages). This research was obsevational with the “cross sectional and retrospective” approach and “descriptively and analytically” presented. The research’s result which has been tested by “STATA (Statistics/Data Analysis) “program using “GEE population averaged model” shows that the influence of PAB and PLP fasilities coverage toward the spread of the Diarrohoea and the Skin diseases is not significant, even based on the time, there will be an increase on the Diarrohoea spread 1,28 to 6,37 times and an increase on the skin disease 1,10 to 7,78 times.
