Abstract

Main aspect in hospital management is a potency of a service unit as center of cost and income. Management of reagent stock at the Clinical Laboratory Installation influences smoothness of services and cost burden. Aim of this research was to know efficiency of reagent stock using EQQ method at the Clinical Laboratory Installation at the Third Level 04.06.01 Wijaya Kusuma hospital in Purwokerto. Research design used an experimental quasi without control. Subject was observed continuously using qualitative approach at the Third Level 04.06.01 Wijaya Kusuma hospital in Purwokerto. Necessity of reagent in a year and necessity of reagent at the time of expired date were analyzed. The proper reagent was analyzed economically using Economic Order Quantity (EQQ), Safety Stock, and Reorder Point. Percentage of reagents stock, which is not efficient, is 42%. These reagents are Billirubin, SGOT, SGPT, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL, CKMB, VDRL, Widal, Rheutamtoid Fact, and CRP. Policy of supplying the reagent necessity could be done by using information of EQQ, SS, and RP in order to obtain management of reagent stock economically. That method could improve efficiency of reagent stock. Method of storage uses First In First Out (FIFO) because reagent is a material that could be damaged in a long time storing.
