Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of tea waste tannin to protozoa concentration and microbial protein synthesis. This research was carried out in Feed Science Laboratory, Animal Nutrition Department, Faculty of Animal Science, Diponegoro University. This research was divided in two periods. First period, taking the tea waste, drying, preparation clan tannin measurement. Second period was laboratory analysis, includes in vitro, counting protozoa concentration and analysis of microbial protein. This research was conducted in completely randomized design (CDR) with 7 treatments and 6 replications, and further test using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Result of the research showed that protozoa concentration significantly decreased (P<O,05) as an effect of tea waste addition, but there was no significantly difference in substrate combination. Microbial protein synthesis was not affected by tea waste, but being affected by substrate combination (P<0,05) in substrate combination of protein and energy source. Keywords : tea waste, in vitro, protozoa, microbial protein Penelitian ini bertjuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tanin arnpas teh pada berbagai substrat terhadap konsentrasi protozoa dan sintesis protein mikrobia. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Diponegoro. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua (2) tahap : pertama pengambilan ampas teh, pengeringan, preparasi dan pengukuran kadar tanin, dan tahap kedua meliputi ke percobaan in vitro dan analisis protozoa dan protein mikrobia sampel cairan rumen hasil in vitro. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 7 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, yaitu dan Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik apabila terdapat pengaruh yang nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji wilayah ganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi protozoa nyata (P<0,05) menurun karena penambahan ampas teh tetapi tidak berbeda (P>0,05) pada kombinasi substrat. Sedangkan sintesis protein mikrobia tidak dipengaruhi oleh ampas teh tetapi dipengaruhi oleh kombinasi substrat (P<0,05) pada kombinasi substrat sumber protein dan sumber energi.
