Abstract
Keberadaan logam berat Hg dan Cu yang cukup tinggi di suatu perairan akan menyebabkan gangguan pada organisme yang hidup di perairan. Organisme yang paling menderita dengan masuknya logam toksik tersebut adalah hewan benthos. Hewan ini cenderung menetap, sehingga keberadaannya dapat dijadikan indikator pencemaran di suatu perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi kandungan logam berat Ng den Cu dan struktur hewan makrobenthos di perairan sungai Seringin Semarang. Sampel sedimen dan makrobenthos diambil dart tujuh stasiun. Analisisnya meliputi kandungan logam berat Hg dan Cu dalam sedimen, ukuran butir sedimen serta identifikasi terhadap makrobenthos. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang bersifat nyata antara konsentrasi logam beret Hg dan Cu yang terdapat dalam sedimen dengan jumlah den indeks keanakaragaman hewan makrobenthos dr perairan Sungai Seringin Semarang. Mengacu pada standar baku mutu dan NOAA SQUIRT USA menunjukkan bahwa perairan Sungai Seringin dalam kondisi tercemar.The existence of Hg and Cu heavy metals which were high enough can cause the disturbing on organism in the waters. Benthos was the sufferest since toxic metals came into the waters. It lives in a place for along time, so it would be bioindicators in the waters. The aims of this research was to know the correlation between Hg, Cu content and macrobenthos organism in the waters of Seringin Semarang. Sampling of both the sediment and macrobenthos organism were done at seven stations. The analyze were to determine Hg and Cu content in the sediment, the seize of grains of sediment and to identify macrobenthos organism. The results showed that there were significant correlation between Hg and Cu concentrations in the sediment and the number and the diversity index of macrobenthos organism in the waters of Seringin Semarang. Based on quality standard of NOAA SQUIRT USA, the waters had been polluted.
