Abstract
The research was carried out to study tannin of tea waste addition as agent manipulation In rumen metabolism to ammonia concentration and protein digestibility In vitro with cattle rumen liquor. The experiment was designed in completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 6 replications. Result of the research showed that tea waste addition that content 6 mg tannin in the fermentation medium was significantly (P<O,05) decreased ammonia concentration and protein digestibility in vitro. The decreasing of protein degradability was figured out by decreasing of ammonia concentration. In this experiment, tannin from tea waste can be used as protein protection in ruminant to decrease its degradability in the rumen to improve flux (protein supply) in intestine, Keywords : tannin, tea waste, protein digestibility, NH3 concentration, in vitro
