Abstract
Terjadinya kenaikan BBM pada akhir tahun 2002 dan akhir Nopember 2005 sangat memukul nelayan, sebagai upaya untuk mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi nelayan tersehut, saat ini penelitian mengenai eksplorasi terhadap alternatif tenaga penggerak kapal haruslah menjadi prioritas utama bagi semua pihak. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan desain Iayar kapal tradisional, sehingga dapat mengurangi konsumsi BBM dalam operasi penangkapan ikan. Studi yang dilakukan penelitian ini, di fokuskan pada perancangan layar untuk kapal ikan tradisional tipe sopek dengan ukuran < 20 GT. Dimulai dari studi literatur mengenai teori aerodinamika layar, koefisien aerodinamika layar serta beberapa teori mengenai hambatan kapal dan konsumsi bahan bakar. Kemudian Rencana garis dibuat berdasarkan pengukuran dari kapal yang sudah ada. Perhitungan prediksi hambatan kapal digunakan dua metode yaitu Metode Holtrop dan Metode Oortmeersen. Hasil menunjukkan hambatan kapal dengan metode Holtrop sebesar 1.33 kN dan metode Oortmeersen sebesar 0.87 kN pada kecepatan kapal 6 knot. Perhitungan stabilitas kapal dilakukan dan didapat grafik stabilias yang menunjukkan bahwa maksimum righting momen kapal terjadi pada sudut oleng 35.5° sebesar 260.034 Ton na. Berdasarkan dari nilai hambatan kapal dan righting momen, maka ditentukm besar kebutuhan luas layar dengan menggunakan persamaan teori aerodinamika layar, clan koefisien aerodinamika untuk tipe loyal 'u1/4.1inuda. Besar luasan Iayar yang didapat adalah berkisar antara 8.69 - 13.28 m2, dan kita tentukan luasan desain layar sebesar 12 m2. Kajian tentang pengaruh layar terhadap konsumsi BBM, menunjukkan penghematan konsumsi BBM sebesar 6.08 liter/trip. The increase of fuel oil prices in the end ofyear 2002 and last November 2005 have an effect on the artisanal .fishery in the north of central ,Java. Meanwhile the research topic about the alternative ship propulsion has become the main priority for the Indonesian government, as the efforts to overcome the problems of the fishery society. Based on the background, this research has a primary objective to have the sail design for traditional _fishing boat which able to decrease the fuel consuirzption at the. fishing operation. The research was focus on the sail design far traditional fishing boat / Sopek type (under 20 GT). Start from literature review with reference to sail aerodynainic theory, sail aerodynamic coefficient and many procedures for predicting ship resistance and fuel consumption. Lines plan has been made from the actual data of boat hull ordinates. Holtrop Method and Oortmeersen Method have been used for the calculations of ship resistance prediction. The results show that the boat resistance is 1.33 kN (Holtrop method) and 0.87 kN (Oortmeersen method) for 6 knot of the service speed. The stability calculations show that the maximum righting moment is 260.034 kg. m at the 35,5° Heeling Angle. Based on the boundary conditions of ship resistance and maximum righting moment, we determine the large of sail area by the equation of sail aerodynamic theory. The aerodynamic coefficients for bermudian sail type have been chosen. The result shows that the size of sail area in the range of 8.69 — 13.28 m2, and then we determined that the size of sail is 12 m2. Regarding the sail area, we analyzed the sail performance by Software Span Version 9.6. The results show that the hull speed is 3.62 -- 6.01 knot, Speed Made Good is 2.19 4.43 knot, Heeling Angle is 3.550 — 11.580 and Total Heeling Moment is 83.85 — 685.87 kg.m. The assessment of sail influence for the fuel consumption shows that the reduction of fuel consumption is 6.08 liter / trip
