Abstract

Gracila•a sp. merupakan rumput laut yang potensial sebagai penghasil agar dan tersebar luas di Indonesia. Selain metoda budidaya alternatif dengan spray technique untuk perbaikan produksi, maka perlu diujicobakan kombinasi zat pengatur tumbuh atonik dengan fo pat pada rumput lam tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan di desa Bulak Baru, Jepara selama 6 minggu. Analisis kandungan agar dan kadar air dilakukan di Laboratorium Hasil Pertanian, UGM Yogyakarta. Eksperimen laboratoris dan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan diaplikasikan. Media budidaya terdiri dari air lam yang mempunyai konsentrasi aton k 0 ppm; 0.5 ppm + 5 0/1 fosfat; 1.0 ppm + 5 p.M fosfat; and 1.5 ppm + 5 IJM fosfat Hasil per elitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi atonik dan fospat berpengaruh sangat nyata pada pertumbuhan, kuantitas dan Kualitas agar (p<0.01) dari Gracilaria sp. yang dibudidayakan dengan spray technique. Kombinasi atonik dan fosfat mempunyai respon positif techadap pertumbuhan, kuantitas dan viskositas agar dan respon negatif terhadap gel strength. Gracilarl sp. is an economical seaweed because of agar content, and it spread out in Indonesid waters. Spray Technique Culture and adding plant growth regulator "atonik" may bejable to solve the unsuitable natural conditions for seaweed culture. The l improvement of both the quality of raw material and the culture technology of seaweed are crucial to support the agar industries. Hence, the evaluation of growth rate, quantity dan quality of Gracilaria sp. which was cultured by spray technique should be l administered. Seaweed tested "G. verrucosa" was collected from Bondo coastal water. The research was codducted during 42 days (six weeks) at the Bulak baru village, Jepara and Agricultural Professing Laboratory of UGM, Yogyakarta. Experimental laboratories and completely randmized design with tree replications were applicated. The treatments used were four different concentrations of atonik i.e: 0 ppm; 0.5 ppm + 5µM fosfat; 1.0 ppm + 5 p.M fos at; and 1.5 ppm + 5µM fosfat The result showed that the combination between atonik and high significantly affect on the gr wth rate, quantity and quality of Gracilaria sp. (p<0.01) which was cultured by spray technique. Atonik has a positive response on the growth rate; agar quantity; viscosity of agar and it has negative response on the the agar gel strength of Gracilaric, sp.
