Abstract

Protected spring water is the source of the soil surface where water arises by itself and protected from the water former, the former bathing, washing, etc. Suspected factor that affect of protected spring used is the number of household members, age of head of family, gender of family head, ownership status occupied residential buildings, residential areas, the highest education household head, per capita monthly expenditure. To analyze the users of protected springs and to know the factors influencing the writer used statistical analysis, that is logistic regression and probit. Logistic analysis based on odd ratio, whereas the probit used cumulative distribution function with normal distribution approach. Based on independent test variables, there are four variables related to the users of protected springs among others ownership status occupied residential buildings, residential areas, the highest education of household head, and per capita monthly expenditure. The estimated probability of the logistic regression analysis the highest chance of users is protected springs in the rural residential area that is equal to 0.311608526. While the estimated probability of probit regression analysis of the highest chances of users is protected springs residence in rural areas classified as residential buildings are occupied rent-free is equal to 0.407794512. A more precise model used in analyzing the user's protected springs in the District of Semarang is the logistic regression model.
