Abstract
Every utterance from a speech act will express cultural vales which are embedded and inherent within the order of life in society. What is sai or expressed is actually what is expressed is actually what is thought by the speaker, and what he thinks is actually his world. The flexilibity of using Javanese karma words used by coastal communities, as well as mirror of their world. This has been shown in the use of karma words sare ‘sleep’ (high level) and siram ‘bath’ (high level) in their everyday speech
