Abstract
A coal quality determination research accorded to the natural radioactivity, at coal sample coming from Bukit Asam and Jambi has been done use gamma spectrometer with detector of HPGe. Five coal sample which has contained different calor value, placed in marineli with pallet diameter 8,5 cm and high 7 cm. Then take time 23 days, so that happened radioactive balance. Then a count using spectrometer gamma with detector of HPGe, so that obtained some data to calculate ash content according to the natural radioactivity. Besides count also done measurement by ignition of coal and obtained ash content. Ash content according to the natural radioactivity and ignition can be compared to linier correlation (R2) through graph. Count result obtained coal concentration value of Jambi and Bukit Asam approximate from 0 until 23,73 Bq/Kg. Result of measurement ash content according to the natural radioactivity assign value the quality of coal from high to lowering that is Bukit Asam TE-59 5,02%, Jambi B 5,05%, Jambi C 5,08%, Jambi A 5,11% dan BA TE-63 6,90%.
