Abstract

The writer had carried out non-linear optical study on the effect of frequency radio wave against the polarization angle of laser beam upon aquades and refinery water by a variation to the field direction and RF frequency size. The RF frequency field used in the research is 6,04 MHz to 11 MHz. In this research, the writer used two different light beam, namely green beam (length of the wave is 532 nm) and red beam (length of the wave is 632,8 nm). The behavior that shall be observed in this research is the turning of electrical field movement direction from the transmitted beam due to the external field issue (RF frequency field) upon the research’s material. Because of this turning, the linear electro optic coefficient will be determined upon aquades and refinery water. From the graphic of the correlation between polarization angle and the RF frequency field and through the calculation, the writer obtain linear electro optic coefficient upon aquades and refinery water. The obtained result indicates that refinery water has greater value of linear electro optic coefficient than aquades. The writer also obtain that the greatest change of polarization angle take place when using the green beam in the field’s position of upright against the RF frequency field and polarization angle of 900.
