Abstract

An integrated services post is one of the health efforts based on community that has a role as a place to provide health message, distribute Vitamin A, monitor Acute Track Respiratory Infection, diarrhea, nutrition status of children under five years old, and to increase coverage of immunization. Participation level of community can be identified by number of mother’s visit to use health services namely weighing. In the past three years (2004-2006), coverage of weighing at five health centers had gone down. Aim of this research was to find out the factors that influenced to the use of Integrated Services Post for children under five years old in Semarang City year 2008. This was observational research using survey method and Cross-Sectional approach. Research instrument used a questionnaire. Respondents were mothers of children under five years old at selected five health centers namely the Health Center of Ngesrep, Karang Malang, Srondol, Mangkang, and Karang Ayu. In-depth interview was conducted for triangulation purpose. Quantitative data were analyzed using method of univariate, bivariate (Rank Spearman test), and multivariate (Logistic Regression test using Enter method) with level of significance on 0.05. Qualitative data were analyzed using Content Analysis. The result of this research shows that variables which have significant relationship with the use of Integrated Services Post are knowledge (p=0.004), attitude (p=0.001), jobs (p=0.002), income (p=0.002), availability of food supplement (p=0.0001), need (p=0.043), cadre’s skill (p=0.023), and easy to access the post (p=0.006). Variable of environmental support does not have significant relation with the use of Integrated Services Post (p=0.483). Variables that influence to the use of Integrated Services Post are jobs (p=0,001; OR=9,094), income (p=0,002; OR=0,142), knowledge (p=0,011; OR=3,955), attitude (p=0,010; OR=4,533), availability of food supplement (p=0,006; OR=6,274), and easy to access the post (p=0,025; OR=3,700).
