Abstract

Abstract This time a mobile phone has been used by millions of people around the world. Growth in the number of users increases exponentially each year. In addition to the growth of a large number of users, is also developing services that increasingly diverse, one of them is the voice call service. Although the voice call service are exist in previous telecommunication technology, at voice call 3G, it is optimized. As the development of services is more diverse so requires operators to develop and manage a network system to support mobility and flexibility have increased dramatically. Therefore there is need for periodic drivetest to know the quality of the call signal to areas that have been selected. Drivetest is important and useful steps to obtain perfomance values of the mobile phone. Drivetest device that is used TEMS which can be used as a drivetest device WCDMA network. In this final project, TEMS Investigation is used as a tool for outdoor drivetest using GPS(Global Positioning System) as a navigation tool. Parameters were observed, including CPICH RSCP, CPICH Ec/No, SQI, CSSR and DCR. Drivetest done every Sunday, starting on August 23th 2009 until September 6th 2009 with drivetest areas that are divided into four routes and made repeatedly in the same route with three variations of call time. Drivetest results show that the best signal quality of voice call are on average value of CPICH RSCP, CPICH Ec/No and SQI respectively -68.00 dBm, -3.83 dB and 30, while the worst signal quality of voice call are on average value of CPICH RSCP, CPICH Ec/No and SQI respectively -96.67 dBm, -9.17 dB and 25. As for the best service quality provided by operator at CSSR and DCR value, respectively 100% and DCR 0%, while the worst value of CSSR and DCR, respectively 94.1% and 6.25%. Keywords : voice call, drivetest, TEMS, CPICH Ec/No, CPICH RSCP, SQI, CSSR and DCR.
