Analisis Penerapan Standar Asuhan Persalinan Normal (APN) oleh Bidan di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Kabupaten Sorong Papua Barat Tahun 2008 (Studi Kualitatif)

Abstract

Implementation of Normal Child-Birth Care Standard is one of the integrated and complemented efforts using minimal intervention in order to keep principles of security and quality of services on the optimal level based on the standard. In implementing Normal Child-Birth Care, midwives must have a strong reason and evidence if they will perform intervention towards the process of natural child-birth. The procedure of standard must be obeyed at the Public Hospital of Sorong District because maternal mortality rate, infant mortality rate, and the occurrence of child-birth trauma (Caput Succedaneum and Chepalic Haematom) are higher than other hospitals in Indonesia. Some factors related to implementation of Normal Child-Birth Care Standard at the hospital are knowledge, attittude, motivation, rewards, supervision, not obedience to the standard, and means. Aim of this research was to obtain information about the factors related to Normal Child-Birth Care Standard by midwives at the Public Hospital of Sorong District. This was observational research using qualitative method. Data were collected by in-depth interview and observational towards four midwives as the implementer of full-time services in Child-Birth Room. The midwives consisted of Senior Midwife graduated from Diploma III of Midwifery, Senior Midwifery graduated from Diploma I of Midwifery, Junior Midwife graduatedfrom Diploma III of Midwifery, and Junior Midwife graduated from Diploma I of Midwifery. Triangulations was performed towards Obstetrician, Head of Child-Birth Room, and patients/patient’s family. Focus Group Discussion was conducted to Obstetrician, Head of Room, Secretary of Indonesia Midwife Association (IMA) at branch of Sorong District, adn four midwives.
