Abstract

Interferometer Michelson method has been used to measure coherence length of He-Ne laser, red diode laser, and green diode laser. First step in this research is setting up the Interferometer by places movable mirror on mirror rail, then determined coherence length of He- Ne and diode laser by shifting movable mirror until the interference fringes do not appear on screen. Coherence length is equal to twice the difference in optical path length 1 L and 2 L . Result of measurement for the coherence length of He-Ne laser I is = (12,4 ± 0,3) c L cm, He-Ne laser II is = (14,6 ± 0,4) c L cm, red diode laser I is = (17,0 ± 0,2) c L cm, red diode laser II is = (26,8 ± 0,1) c L cm, and green diode laser is = (3,0 ± 0,2) c L cm.
