Abstract

Contact mechanics is a science disusing contact mechanism between two objects contacting, the contact may be lines, points and surface. This observation is analyzing about comparable deformation on spheres contact modeling by rough surface for fully plastic area. This deformation analysis is related with changes of volume, whereby volume changes is happened then the contact surface will be deformed due to increased tension, and stretch from initial till finalizing of deformed condition is decreased / steady condition. ‘’this comparable plastic deformation calculation is aimed to determine effect of elasticity factor after being deformed, whereby if existed objects with difference thickness of similar material get equal loading , the plastic deformation occurred on each object will be equal.’’ Validation for the calculation with FEM Ansys 9.0 was experimental and the result yielded that spheres plastic deformation with rough surface is not equal due to affect of geometrical thickness size from each specimen, nature of material used in this model is elastic-perfectly plastic specimen by smaller thickness is experiencing bigger deformation plastic compared with higher thickness specimen.
