Abstract
Achievement motivation is one important factor that affects achievement. Someone who has the motivation to have a tendency to devote all his ability to obtain optimal performance in accordance with the expected goals. This study to determine whether there is a correlation between perceptions of competence teacher with achievement motivation on student class VII SMP Negeri 2 Tirto. The study population as much as 160 student class VII SMP Negeri 2 Tirto, with sampel study as much as 87 student. Sampling techniques with cluster random sampling. The collection of data by using two measuring instruments, that is scale achievement motivation (rix=0,255-0,568 and á=0,871) and scale perception of competency teacher (rix=0,253-0,713 and á=0,910). Results of correlation analysis product moment show the correlation coefficient 0,336 (p=0,001) which means that there is a significant positive relationship between perception of competence teacher with achivement motivation. The contribution competene teacher for achievement motivation is 11,3% and 88,7% influenced by other factor. Keyword: Perception of Competency Teacher, Achievement Motivation.
