Abstract
The phenomenon of lifestyle trend seems evident among female students. Based on initial survey results, it was found that as many (75%) of 44 female students to spend time with a trip to the mall, playing facebook (70%), movies (77%), hanging out at Cafe (50%), clubbing (13% ), eat at fast food (41%), shopping in boutiques (20%), while the other answers (11%) as to the salon and exercise. The proliferation of entertainment venues around the campus will shape the character of youth into dreamer, materialist, hedonist, and the murder of teenage characters and new creations for managing identity. The importance of adaptability will help students avoid the influence of hedonic lifestyle trend with how to respect yourself, so that identity is maintained in line with the pattern of an increasingly free association. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem with a tendency among students of hedonist lifestyle. The measurement used in this study of the scale, the Self-Esteem Scale reliability coefficient of 0.893 and Lifestyle Trends hedonic scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.950. Sample in this study involving 78 female students at the Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and Engineering Faculty of Diponegoro University, Semarang. Sampling techniques performed with proportional cluster random sampling techniques, data analysis was performed using simple regression analysis, analysis of data obtained correlation coefficient - 0.411. The figures mean that the hypothesis proved by showing that self-esteem variables contributed 16.9% effective against hedonist lifestyle trend among students in university diponegoro other factors to give the effect of 83.1%.)
