Syarofuddin, Muhammad. 2010. “The Testing of Fuel Economizer Tool for Diesel Engine with Petrodiesel and Castor Oil Fuel Mixture Reviewed from the Aspect of Power and Torque.” Final Project Energy Conversion. Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Engineering Diponegoro University. This Final Project is under the guidance of Ir. Arijanto, MT and Muchammad, ST. MT. Key words: Electrolyzer HHO, Performance, Petrodiesel, and Castor Oil. The development of technology industry and transportation, make the need of fuel getting larger, and it is not balanced with the reserve of petrol as a subtance of fuel getting less and less. Because of that, it needs a way to economize the fuel and to look for an alternative energy, so the industry and transportation can be done well, for example in diesel engine the fuel can be replaced with castor oil. This research is to find the solution of the problem. Petrodiesel can be replaced with the phyto oils, one of them is castor oil. It has more identical characteristic with the petrodiesel than the other phyto oils. But in fact, the castor oil haven’t replaced the petrodiesel 100% yet, because there is a different characteristic between the petrodiesel and the castor oil. So, the mixing is taken, with the references from previous researchers, it is got the best mix with the ratio 80% petrodiesel and 20% castor oil. After defining the ratio of mixing, then the first test is taken on the Isuzu Panther 2300cc diesel engine for 10 hours. After that, the second test by adding aconomizer tool Electrolyzer HHO on the diesel engine for the same time. The purpose of the testis to know thw influence of economizer tool Electrolyzer HHO toward the performance of the diesel engine. The result of the test shows that the performanceof the diesel engine after the economizer tool Electrolyzer HHO added increases and the efficiencyof the diesel engine also increases between 6%- 28% or it can be said that there is a economizing of the consumption of the fuel.
