Abstract

Generator polynomial is important tool for solving counting problem. This paper will discuss how the generator polinomial is used to solve the model counting problem, in this case the circuit computation problem. Problem of the dividing circuit needs to determine the quotient and remainder term : V(X) /g(X) = q(X) + r(X)/g(X). The operational steps of the circuit are as follows: The first r shift enter the most significant coefficients of V(X), after r th shift, the quotient output is gr -1 Vm; this is the highest-order term in the quotient. For each quotient qi the polynomial qi g(X) must be substracted from dividend. At each shift of the register, the difference is shifted one stage; the highest –order term is shifted out, while the next significant coefficient of V(X) is shifted in. After m+1 total shifts into the register, the quotient has been serially at the output and the remainder resides in the register. Keywords: Generator Polynomial, circuit, shift, register
