Abstract

Background: Acute primary angel-closure glaucoma is primary glaucoma which has unknown etiology and systemic abnormality. The therapy of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma is peripheral iridectomy and laser iridotomy. Post operation intra ocular pressure ( IOP ) influenced by pre operation IOP, mechanism during the operation, and after operation factor (inflammasion and complication). The aim of this study is to define the difference of post operation IOP after peripheral iridectomy and laser iridotomy on acute primary angle-closure glaucoma on period January 1st 2004 – December 31st 2007 at dr. Kariadi general hospital Semarang. Methods: This study was a retrospective with analytic design. Sample of this study is from secondary medical record of glaucoma patient at dr. Kariadi general hospital Semarang. It was get with inclusion criteria The data was analyzed by SPSS 15,0 version with Mann-Whitney test for the hipotesis. Result: The result of Mann Whitney test between post operation IOP of peripheral iridectomy and laser iridotomy is p = 0,363 Conclusion: there isn’t significant difference of post operation IOP after peripheral iridectomy and laser iridotomy on acute primary angle-closure glaucoma Keywords: Acute primary angle-closure glaucoma, peripheral iridectomy, laser iridotomy, intraocular pressure
