Abstract
Backgrounds: Breast cancer is the most common cancer on female in Indonesia after cervix cancer. Green tea has been studied as an adjuvant medication for breast cancer. Green tea polifenol able to increase IL-12 and inhibit Il-10 that afterwards increase macrophage activation, NK cell and CTL. The increment of mononuclear cells proliferation around breast cancer tissue represent good prognose of immune system. The purpose of this research was to prove the effect of Green Tea Polifenol mononuclear cells proliferation around breast cancer’s tissue in C3H mice. Methods: This experimental study applied post test only control group design. Fifteen C3H mices as samples were divided into 3 groups. Group K: were innoculated with cancer cells, and received standard diet. P1: were administrated with 0,8 mg/day Green Tea Polifenol orally for 3 weeks, and then the mice were inoculated with cancer cells. P2: were innoculated with cancer cells and then 3 weeks after tumors appeared, administrated with 0,8 mg/day Green Tea Polifenol orally Result: The highest mean of mononuclear cells proliferation’s was 1,7 (0,20) on P1; 1,3 (0,39) on P2 and the lowest was on 0,9 (0,22) on group K. There was a significant difference in mononuclear cells proliferation’s score between all groups (p=0,006). Mean of mononuclear cells proliferation’s score was significant between group K and P1 (p=0,008) and between group K and P2 (p=0,037). There was no significant difference between group P1 and P2 (p=0,034). Conclusions: Green Tea Polifenol has effect increased the mononuclear cells proliferation around C3H mice adenocarsinoma mammae tissue. Keywords: Green Tea Polifenol, mononuclear cells proliferation, adenocarcinoma mammae.
