PENGARUH PEMBERIAN POLIFENOL TEH HIJAU TERHADAP SKOR DERAJAT HISTOLOGIS ADENOCARCINOMA MAMMAE MENCIT C3H

Abstract

Background: Breast Cancer is the second most frequent malignancy suffered by women in Indonesia after cervic uterine cancer. According to the researchs, green tea can afford to combat proliverative diseases because of polyphenol contained. Green tea polyphenol can inhibit carcinogenesis through several ways. They can be antioxidant, cell proliferation inhibition, and apoptotic induction. The objective of this research was to observe the effect of green tea polyphenol on the histological grading score of adenocarsinoma mammae in C3H mice. Method: Experimental study with post test only control group design. Samples were 15 C3H mice and divided into 3 groups. Group K were inoculated by cancer cells and got standard diet. P1 were administered by 0,8 mg green tea polyphenol per day orally during 3 weeks before inoculated by cancer cells. P2 were inoculated by cancer cells first before administrated by 0,8 mg green tea polyphenol. Result: There was a significant difference on histological grading score among all groups (p=0,005). The mean of total histological grading score was significant between K and P1 (p=0,008), between K and P2 (p=0,045), and between P1 and P2 (p=0,016). Conclusion: Green tea polyphenol has an effect in declining the histological grading score of adenocarsinoma mammae in C3H mice.
