UJI DAYA ANTHELMINTIK INFUS DAUN DAN INFUS BIJI PARE (Momordica charantia) TERHADAP CACING GELANG AYAM (Ascaridia galli) SECARA IN VITRO

Abstract

Background: Saponin is one of bittermelon content that has poison effect to worm parasite. The purpose of this study is to prove and to compare the anthelmintic potency of bittermelon leaf and seed infuse toward Ascaridia galli worm. . Method: This was an experimental study using post test only control group design. The samples were 192Ascaridia galli worms,divided into 4 groups. The first group was bittermelon leaf infuse in 10gram/100ml,20gram/100ml,and40gram/100ml concentrations. The second group was bittermelon seed infuse in 10gram/100ml,20gram/100ml,and40gram/100ml concentrations. The third group was PiperazinCitrate0,5% as positive control. The fourth group wasNaCl0,9% as negative control.Data of the total mortality number of worm every hour was analyzed using probit analysis to get LC100 and LT100 of bittermelon leaf and seed infuse.The mean of worms death time of each concentration analyzed using Mann-Whitney test . Result:Bittermelon leaf infuse has LC100 in33,921gram/100ml and LT100 in23,314hours. Bittermelon seed infuse has LC100 in31,578gram/100ml and LT100 in33,793hours.The treatment groups have mean of worms death time significantly(p<0,05)lower than negative control but higher than positive control group. . Conclusion: Bittermelon leaf and seed infuse at 10gram/100ml,20gram/100ml,and40 gram/100ml concentrations have anthelmintic potency toward Ascaridia galli worm in vitro but lower than PiperazinCitrate0,5%. Bittermelon leaf infuse at40gram/100ml has more effective anthelmintic potency than bittermelon seed infuse at40gram/100ml.
