Abstract

Background: The human body is a good electrically conductive so that if there is direct contact with electrical current can be fatal. Deaths directly caused by electric attacks do not always indicate a specific phenomenon, and therefore the diagnosis of death from electric attacks are the result of cooperation between forensic pathology, forensic toxicology, and investigating officer.4,7Research is expected to give meaningful effect to the medikolegal aspect. Methods: This research design is the post test only control group design using Wistar rat as an object of research. The treatment in this study is to give exposure dose variation of electric current directly to the Wistar rats. The output is the number of points assessed hipercontraction gastrocnemius muscle of Wistar rats. The data described in the form of tables and figures, Pearson test, Spearman and logistic analysis using SPSS 16.0 for windows. Result: Statistical tests in this study consisted of the normality test and correlation test showed a very strong effect by exposure to electrical current to gastrocnemius muscles hipercontraction point numbers are a positive direction. Conclusion: There are correlation between exposure to electric current directly to the Wistar rat gastrocnemius muscle damage. Keywords: exposure to electric current directly, gastrocnemius muscle damage, point of hipercontraction.
