PENGARUH EKSTRAK RIMPANG TEMU KUNCI (Kaempferia pandurata Roxb.) TERHADAP JUMLAH GELIAT MENCIT BALB/C YANG DIINDUKSI ASAM ASETAT

Abstract

Background: Temu kunci (Kaempferia pandurata Roxb.) is a traditional herbal plant that believed by people can be used as a drug for decrease the pain. The aim of this study is to know if Kaempferia pandurata Roxb’s extract has the effect to decrease the pain. Methods:This experiment is an experimental study with Post Test Only Control Group Design. Animal used for this experiment contains of 25 male Balb/c mice age 6-8 weeks, weight 20-25 grams. Divided randomly into 5 groups that consist of 5 mices each group. All mice used in this experiment were adapted with standart diet for a week. Before used, all mice were fasted for 8 hours. First group is the negative control group was given vehiculum orally, secong group is the positive contrl group was given 1 ml aspirin suspense 1,3 mg/20 gr BW orally. The third, fourth, and fifth group is treaten group was given 1 ml Kaempferia pandurata Roxb’s extract with dosage 0,7 mg/gr BW; 1,4 mg/gr BW; and 2,8 mg/gr BW orally. After 15 minutes, all group were threated by 1 ml asetic acid 0,1% injection intraperitoneally. Data were collected by counting the total writhing every 5 minutes for 15 minutes. Data were analyzed with SPSS for windows. Result: The result of research revealed that mean of the total writhing in the negative control group in the first 5 minutes, second 5 minutes, and third 5 minutes are 41,0; 38,6; 35,6. The mean in the positive control group are 13,0; 10,4; 6,8. The mean in the first treaten group are 30,6; 20,6; 14,2. The mean in the second treaten group are 26,8; 14,8; 10,6. The mean in the third treaten group are 18,2; 13,2; 8,0. The result of Friedman test of five groups give significant difference with p=0,007 (p<0,05). It showed that there was the effect of Kaempferia pandurata Roxb’s extract to decrease the total writhing of Balb/c mice significantly between the positive control group, the negative control group, and the treaten group. The result of Kruskal Wallis test of five groups give significant difference with p<0,05. It showed that there was the effect of Kaempferia pandurata Roxb’s extract to decrease the total writhing of Balb/c mice significantly in the first 5 minutes, second 5 minutes, and third 5 minutes. Conclution:The result showed that giving Kaempferia pandurata Roxb’s extract has the effect to decrease the total writhing of Balb/c mice that induced by asetic acid 0,1%.
