Abstract

Background : Flavonoid can cope with dandruff problem. Carrot known with its high flavonoid level. The author was interested to do a research on the benefit of squeezed carrot invitro to the growth of P. ovale. Method : This experimental research use post test only control design. Research samples are P. ovale, each on SDA olive oil as control, SDA olive oil with 1 % ketoconazol and SDA olive oil with sequeezed carrot as the treatment group. It is effective if on the control group P. ovale growth while on the treatment group P.ovale don’t growth. And uneffective if on the control group don’t growth but on the treatment group growth, where as if on the control media P. ovale don’t growth, it will be excluded from this research. Sample size two proportion sample formula for 30 research sample.. The data is analized with x2 test, if don’t meet the requirement for x2 test then the alternative Fisher test is done. Result : On the control media all P. ovale growth. The treatment group of 1 % ketoconazol P.ovale growth on 1 media. The treatment group of squeezed carrot P.ovale growth on 3 media. From the Fisher analysis test the value of p > 0,05, suggesting that squeezed carrot have the same effectiveness with 1 % ketoconazol invitro. Conclusion : Squeezed carrot have the same effectiveness with 1% ketoconazol invitro. Key Words : Squeezed carrot, dandruff, P.ovale, 1% ketoconazol.
