Abstract

Background: Limphocyte is a major adaptive immune cell and is connected with 2 adaptive immune responds which are spesificity and memory. The degree of limfoblas proliferation as the precursor of the Limphocyte can be induced by immunomodulator and the reaction with antigen. Previously, there was a research of Tolak Angin Cair to observe the reaction of Limfoblas. And the results of the research was a significant increase of Limphocyte that are induced by Tolak Angin in swiss mice. That’s why, it must be oberserved the effects of Tolak Angin Anak Cair, that was claimed as an immunomodulator, has almost the same ingredients with Tolak Angin Cair with the addition of ekstrak of buffalo horn to the level of Limphoblas proliferation. Methods: This research is a pure experimental research and the design used was Post Test Only Control Group Design that used experimental animal as the subject of the research. To compare the results from the control group and the experimented group. The experiment used Tolak Angin Anak Cair with several doses (0,125 ml, 0,250 ml, and 0,50 ml). After that, the mice are being killed and the spleen was taken to meassure the percentage of limphoblas. The next step was using the SPSS 15,00 for Windows to analyze the data followed by using the normality test. Then, using kruskal-Wallis and Mann Whitney Test to determine which data that were the significant one. This research was conducted from March until April 2009 in the Laboratorium of Parasitologi and the Laboratorium of CEBIOR. Results: From the result, there was a significant increase between the control group to the 0,125 ml TAAC and 0,250 ml TAAC (p<0,05). But, there was not a significant increase between the control group and 0,50 ml TAAC, also among the experimented group(p>0,05). Conclussion: TAAC can increase the percentage of limphoblas in swiss mice significantly. But, there is not a significant increase if TAAC is given in a higher dose.
