PERBEDAAN STATUS ERUPSI GIGI MOLAR KETIGA MANDIBULA PADA PENDUDUK DESA DAN KOTA

Abstract

Background: The mandibular third molar continues to generate more controversy concerning eruption pattern and pathologic sequel than any other tooth in the oral cavity. The difference between living place and diet can influence the eruption status of this tooth Methods: This was an observational research study with the approach of The Cross Sectional Design, using student of Sultan Agung 1 High School Semarang and Kradenan State High School. The sample of 200 male and female divided into two groups, in the rural and the urban, determined the eruption status of their third molar mandibular right and left. Result: Chi square result showed significantly difference in third right molar mandibular eruption between rural and urban population(p=0,001). For the third left molar mandibular it also showed significantly difference between urban and rural(p=0,044). Conclusion: There were significant differences of the eruption status between urban and rural population. Keywords: rural, urban, eruption status
