Abstract

Abstract Film as one of literary works, can serve as a means that is used by society, especially writers, to express their idea. The idea expressed in a film is often in form of symbol, character, theme, which represent the life style, idealism, and ideology or sociology of society. The thesis entitled “Faktor-Faktor Sosial Yang Dihadapi Imigran Ilegal Dalam Usaha Menjadi Warga Negara Amerika Pada Script Film Crossing Over Karya Wayne Kramer”. This thesis tells the social problems from which illegal immigrants suffer and their struggle to obtain a green card as American citizenship. The writer uses library research and literary sociology approach. Library research is used to collect data and others information from books, internet, and other sources to support the analysis. The literary sociology approach is applied to analyze the social phenomenon of the script Crossing Over film. The concept of this approach makes the writer easier to look at social problems of illegal immigrants in this thesis.
