Muh. Yusuf, et al; 2001 The Study of Coastal Pollution Level and Adaptation Strategy of Microzoobenthos Organism in Tirangeawang Coastal Island Semarang. Tirangcawang coastal island has waste coining from amount of factories that lie at the estuary. The waste can make pollution taint causes the quality of water decrease, so that it will bring the life of sea organism in dangerous condition especially Macrozoobenthos. The aim of this research is to know the quality of water environment add the community structure of makrozoobenthos in relation with polluting material. The research method is case study. The sample is taken three times with the interval of 14-15 days. Analysis data to know the waters quality use IMLP and Sea Water Quality Standard and diversity indeks. Based on the result of water physics-chemistry parameter measurement slows that some parameter (DO, BOD-5, COD, N-NO2 and heavy metals Cu, Cd, Ph, Ni) have been over the needed as stated in Sea Water Quality Standard. IMLP value in researched locations were 61,480-66,121 so its value to be called medium pollution. The diversity index value of macrozoohenthos between low until medium level; so on based that level to be called waters in this researched location has been polluted in the low up to the medium category. Perairan pulau 'hirangcawang menampung limbah yang berasal dad sejumlah pabrik yang berada di hub sungai. Limbah ini mengakibatkan terjadinya penceinaran yang dampaknya menurunkan kualitas air, sellinggir membahayakan bagi kehidupan organism perairan hewan benthos. Tujuan penelitian ini secara umum dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui kualitas lingkungan perairan dan struktur komunitas hewan benthos dalam kaitannya dengan gangguan bahan pencernar. Metode yang digunakan yaitu studi kasus. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali ulangan, dengan interval 14-15 hail. Analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kualitas perairan menggunakan IMLP (Indeks Mutt Lingkungau Perairan), Baku Mutu Air Lain dan analisis hewan benthos yang meliputi kelimpahan, keanekaragaman dan keseragatnan jenis. Berdasarkan basil pengukuran parameter tisika-lchnia air menunjukkan hahwa beberapa parameter (DO, BOD-5, COD, N-NO, dan unsure logam berat Cu, Cd, Pb, Ni) telah melampaui batas yang diinginkan dalam Baku Mutu Air Laut. Nilai IMLP perairan di lokasi penelitian dapat berkisar antara 61,489-60,121. Berdasarkan !alai ini dapat dikatakan perairan telah tercemar kategori sedang, karena nilainya dibawah kriteria kualitas air yang balk. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (Jan keseragaman hewan makrobonthos berkisar dari rendah sampai dengan sedang. Berdasarkan nilai ini maka dapat dikatakan ba.hwa perairan di daerah penelitian telah tercemar kategori ringan sampai dengan sedang.
