Abstract
The world’s population is still growing and has reached 6 billion people. Consequently, the poor are becoming increasingly concentrated in slums and squatter settlements in many cities in developing countries. The challenges on environment protection, water consumption, and access to human shelter are the following impacts of growing population. In particular, inadequate shelter for the people who lives in the cities has caused an obvious need to tenure security on land. Insecure property rights restrain use and investment in rural and urban land. Many cases of insecure land tenure have led to the improper treat to the urban poor such as housing eviction and demolishing. Therefore land tenure and tenure security need to be introduced, identified, and campaigned to improve access to land and get benefits from land. However, identifying and classifying the full range tenure categories that exist in a city and the degrees of security which can be afford is not sufficient itself to provide a proper understanding of the issues involved. It is also important to assess their right corresponded within.
