Abstract
Decreasing of water quality was caused by ammonia due to the ammonia is a problem in tiger shrimp (Penaus monodon F.) culture. Bioaugmentation may be can be used to solve this problem due to environmental safety. The objective of this research was to know the influence different substrat composition and effectivity of biaugmentation on ammonia reduction in culture medium of tiger shrimp. Experimental laboratoris and split plot design based on completely randomized design was applied in the research. The main treatment was the substrat substrat composition (A= sand 25% and clay 75%; B= sand 50% and clay 50%; C = sand 75% and clay 25%); as sub-treatment was epicin concentration 1{0 ppm and as a group was day (0; 2; 4; and 6) with three replication. Anova result indicated that bioaugmentation, especially substrat composition was not significantly affect on the ammonia reduction in in the culture medium of tiger shrimp. Epicin dose of 1.0 ppm and day as sub-treatment has a higly significantly affect (p<0.01) in reducing ammonia at second day and indicated the most effective to reduce ammonia in culture medium of tiger shrimp
