Abstract

Background: The usage of eye health services is still lack. This problems can be solved with right attitudes towards eye health services. Attitude itself has variety factors such as internal factors and external factors. This study aimed to determine what factors are associated with community’s attitudes towards eye health services Method: This research was an analytical observational reserach with cross sectional approaching. Research samples were community of Wonolopo Village, Mijen sub district, Semarang on March- April 2010 which fullfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was done by filling out tested questionnaire. Data was analyzed by Pearson, Fisher and Lambda test using SPSS ver 15 for Windows with p <0.05 Result: The results showed no significant relationship between age, experience of going to eye health services three years ago and the influence of other people that are considered important to the community’s attitude towards eye health services because of p = 0.059, p = 1.000, p = 0.560. In this study, a significant relationship between the experience of eye disease three years ago and knowledge with community’s attitudes towards eye health services, because p = 0.021, p = 0.0001 Conclusion: experience of eye disease during last three years and knowledge significantly related to community’s attitudes towards eye health services Keyword: Age, Experience of eyes disease three years ago, Experience of going to eye health services three years ago, The influence of other people that are considered important Knowledge, Community’s attitude towards eye health services
