Abstract

The requirements increase for hydrocarbons encourage oil industry to increasing production. Determination of the point of drilling a productive hydrocarbon begins with determining prospects area of hydrocarbons. Various efforts and approaches of geology and geophysics conducted to determine the zone of hydrocarbon prospects. The purpose of this research is to determine the subsurface conditions of sedimentation and environmental subsurface geological structures that affect the petroleum system Tanjung Raya is located in Northeastern part of Barito Basin, South Kalimantan, which can be determined prospective hydrocarbon zone. Research method used is descriptive method and the analysis method. Descriptive method is carried out through literature study of some wells drilling data and case studies in research areas. Analysis method done by analyzing the primary data and interpret the log data in the form of drilling and seismic cross-section using the software Geoframe. The use of primary data with secondary data in the form of Biostratigraphy and cutting data. The use of secondary data aimed to strengthen the results of the analysis based on primary data. The results of subsurface studies in Tanjung Raya Barito Basin, showing the precipitation in lacustrine environments that have become progradation deposition environment to shallow marine litoral then had been uplift and deposition environment has become retrogration delta sedimentation environment. Geological structures that affect the petroleum system in research area is wrench faults that happen in basement, this structures resulting normal fault and reverse fault that form flower structure pattern appearance in seismic cross-section. Based on subsurface data and the petroleum system can be determined three prospective hydrocarbon zone.
