Abstract
Nursing is one of the professional services, which is an integral part of the hospitals services as a whole. Nursing service determined the quality and image of a hospital. One of the factors for low quality of nursing service is undefined supervisions, which only cover the number and condition of patients, as well as the available officers. This supervision did not give support, motivation and observation activity of nursing services. Furthermore, the nurses also expressed that the accepted remuneration was not based on the activity which had been done. Career development was unclear and some nurses did not work optimally. Target of this study was to investigate the individual, psychological and organizational factors influencing the nurse working performance at local mental hospital Dr Amino Gondohutomo Semarang. The results showed that there was no association between age, gender, education level and length of work (p-value>0.05) and the working performance. However there was an association between nurses ability & skills and working performance (p-value 0.003). There was a correlation between the perception of Head of Room supervision and nurses working performance (p-value 0.003). There was an association between personality & attitude with nurses working performance (p-value 0.003) and there was an association between motivation and nurses working performance (p-value 0.007). If these independent variables were put together in the equation, the perception of Head of Room supervision (p-value 0.003, Exp B value:9.370) and personality and attitude were important (p-value 0.016, Exp B value: 6.238) in determining the nurse working performance.
