Abstract

Based on Ministry of Health’s Order No. 1076/ Menkes/ SK/ VII/ 2003 about traditional medicine, Semarang Health Office is responsible to monitor the activities of traditional healers in Semarang. Monitoring system of traditional medicine activities started by collecting and registering the traditional healers. Previous study revealed that there was no adequate information on the activities of this group. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a comprehensive information system on traditional medicine program. This study aimed to develop a Traditional Medicine Information System to support the traditional medicine monitoring program of Semarang Health Office. The results showed that the information system developed was able to provide easy, accurate and clear information. The analysis showed the average value of “easy” criteria for the old and new system were 1.11 and 4.0 respectively. The average value for “complete” was 1.33 for the old system and 4 for the new one. “Clear” criteria average was 1.16 and 4 for the old and new system respectively. The total score average for the old system was 1.16 and for the new system was 4. Statistical analysis of the difference between before and after system development showed a p-value of 0.0001.
