The reacearch was aimed to study of fatty acids profile of seagrass (Enitalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cytnadocea serrulata and Syringodium isoetifolium) which growing in Jepara waters. The research will be done as scientific base to improve seagrass as source of fatty acids. The research was done by using discriptive methods. Seagrass was prepared and extracted at Laboraory of Marine Exploration and Biotechnology, FPK-UNDIP, Jepara. Fatty acids were analyzed at Laboratory of Research and Development Industry Institute (BPPI) Semarang. Sample was dried under opened air and was powdered . The powder was macerated in chloroform-methanol (2:1). The solution was evaporated. The extract was subjected to silica gel °plum chromatography and eluted with n-hexane —diethyl ether. GC-MS (HP WAX coloum, length 30 m, diametre 0.25 mm) and Helium were used to determined competition of fatty acids The research showed that 7 fatty acids (oleat, palmitat , linolenat, miristat acid, linoleat, stearat and palmitoleat) were obtained from E. acoroides and S. isoetifolium , 6 fatty acids (oleat, palmitat , linolenat, linoleat, stearat and palmitoleat) were obtained from 7'. hemprwhii, 5 fatty acids (cleat, palmitat , linoleat, stearat and palmitoleat) were obtanined from C. serrulata.
