Abstract
Early Stimulation, Detection and Intervention for Growth and Development of Under-five Children (SDIDTK) is a program which is implemented by the interaction between family and community with the help by the professionals. About 67.57% Public Health Center in Semarang City have not reach the target of Strategic Planning for SDIDTK program in 2007 which in only 68% coverage on this program for more than 20% in 2007, decereased their coverage on this program for more than 20% in 2007, compared to previous year. One of the Public Health Centers has only 12.8% coverage 2007. There was also a lack of coordination with the community in this program. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of Early Stimulation, Detection and Intervention for Growth and Development (SDIDTK) Program and coverage in Semarang City Public Health Center. This study was a descriptive and explorative study with a qualitative method. Data were collected by in depth interview to 7 workers whose responsible for the program in Public Health Centers, 7 community health workers and 1 staff of children and adolescent from from District Health Section in Semarang city as triangulation subjects. The function in organizing and mobilizing of the Public health centers had not reach its maximum level. There were some problems in implementing this program in the Public Health Centers, for example some of the caretakers for SDIDTK program have never been trained, lack of socialization of the program in the Public Health Centers and their system, no adequate supporting facilities and lack of support from the Chief of Public Health Centers.
